When endodontics is needed
When decay reaches the pulp — the soft tissue with the nerve and blood vessels — inflammation sets in and shows up as throbbing pain, heat sensitivity, or swelling. Endodontic treatment saves a tooth that would otherwise have to be extracted.
How it is done
We work under a rubber dam in an aseptic field. We open access to the pulp chamber, mechanically and chemically clean every canal, and disinfect them. Obturation is performed with the modern 3D filling technique — the canal is thoroughly sealed in every plane, leaving no space for microorganisms.
Afterwards
A root-treated tooth is often more brittle, which is why we usually finish it with a ceramic onlay or crown — this significantly extends its lifespan. Mild bite tenderness for a few days afterwards is a normal tissue reaction.
