2What data we process
As part of our work we process the following personal data:
- Identification: first name, surname, date of birth, personal/insurance number.
- Contact details: address, phone, e-mail.
- Health data necessary for diagnosis and the provision of care.
- Booking data: appointment dates, changes and cancellations.
- Billing data: where a tax document is issued.
3Purposes of processing
- Provision of medical services and maintenance of medical records (Act No. 372/2011 Sb.).
- Managing bookings and patient communication (phone, e-mail, online form).
- Issuing accounting documents and meeting tax obligations.
- Compliance with other legal obligations.
4Legal basis
- compliance with a legal obligation,
- performance of a contract (the booked service),
- legitimate interest (protecting the Controller’s rights, e.g. in debt recovery),
- patient consent (e.g. reminders or service announcements, where the patient opts in).
5Sources of data
- Directly from patients during registration, booking, or the provision of care.
- From health insurers, where necessary to cover the cost of care.
- From other healthcare providers when records are transferred, with consent or under legal obligation.
6Retention period
- Medical records: per Act No. 372/2011 Sb., at least 10 years from the most recent care.
- Accounting documents: 10 years per the Accounting Act.
- Booking contact details: until the appointment is held or cancelled, and at most 1 year.
7Who has access
- Practice clinical staff (dentists, hygienists, nurses, reception).
- IT, payment gateway and accounting providers — always under a data processing agreement.
- Public authorities (insurers, courts, police) — only to the extent set by law.
8Your rights
You have the right to:
- request access to your personal data,
- request correction of inaccurate data,
- request restriction of processing,
- object to processing,
- request erasure, where this does not conflict with the practice’s legal obligations,
- lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection.
9Security
We protect personal data through organisational and technical measures that prevent misuse, loss, or unauthorised access.
