How the visit runs

The hygienist first assesses the gums — measuring pocket depths and bleeding. Then ultrasonic removal of tartar, fine hand finishing, and polishing. Air-Flow lifts external pigments (coffee, tea, wine, smoking) with a stream of pressurised water and gentle sodium-bicarbonate crystals.

Home-care coaching

Personalised brushing coaching is part of the visit. We pick the right brush, interdental tools, and technique that suits your mouth. Without good home care results don't hold — so we spend time making sure you are confident with it at home.

How often

Six-month intervals are the default. Patients with periodontitis, fixed appliances, or implants may benefit from a 3—4 month rhythm.

Frequently asked

Does hygiene hurt?
In healthy gums almost not at all. If you have inflammation or sensitive necks you may briefly feel discomfort. For significant sensitivity we use a topical anaesthetic gel.
Can I eat and drink afterwards?
For the first 1—2 hours avoid colouring drinks (coffee, red wine) and smoking. The freshly polished surface picks up pigment more easily.
Will hygiene whiten my teeth?
Air-Flow removes external staining, so the teeth look cleaner and a touch lighter. Actual chemical whitening only happens with bleaching.
